TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson attorney has lost his law license due to misconduct that officials said harmed clients.

The State Bar of Arizona announced Wednesday that the Arizona Supreme Court's presiding disciplinary judge accepted a consent agreement between the bar and Zachary W. Schon for Schon's disbarment, which took effect Monday.

State Bar lawyers act as prosecutors in attorney discipline cases.

The announcement said Schon's misconduct included failing to communicate with clients and missing court hearings, resulting in arrest warrants being issued against clients, their driver's licenses being suspended and trials being reset without notification.

The announcement says Schon's misconduct occurred when he worked as an independent contractor for a law firm and that he failed to reimburse the firm for $36,000 of costs it incurred after learning of his misconduct.
