Two playgrounds are now open to the public on Tucson's east side.
The City of Tucson dedicated playgrounds today at Lincoln Park and Groves Park.
Ward 4 City Councilmember Shirley Scott says the project started during the great recession when the city couldn't afford to replace old equipment.
Both playgrounds have age appropriate play structures for younger and older kids. They have shade structures and are also accessible to kids with disabilities.
Blueprints for four different playgrounds were displayed earlier this year, and Tucsonans were able to select the designs of the new playgrounds.
