TUCSON, Ariz. — Wheelchair-bound residents of the Arizona State Veterans Home will soon be able to get around the VA campus easier with a new golf cart.
Through fundraising with help from American Legion Riders Oro Valley Chapter 132 and eight passenger golf cart was bought and modified to accommodate a wheelchair.
The golf cart will arrive to waiting residents at the Home on Saturday starting at 2 p.m. along with a Christmas party.
The Christmas party will include; Santa Claus with a bag of gifts will be on the golf cart.
The Arizona State Veterans Home is a 120 bed facility with skilled nurses providing care for men and women veterans of Vietnam, Korea and WWII.
