New businesses are coming to Tucson's southside, according to Ward 5 Council Member Richard Fimbres.
Fimbres is calling it a renaissance of the southside that is long overdue.
In the past couple months, a CenturyTheatre, Planet Fitness and Lin's Grand Buffet opened up.

"I always tell people we are five minutes from downtown, five minutes from the U of A and four minutes from the airport so this is right where you want to be when you are talking about doing business," said Fimbres.
He says he meets with neighborhoods, city staff and developers to decide what business they would like to see.
Fimbres says he is in talks about bringing more retail, restaurants and housing to the area.
