Residents in the Black Horse Ranch neighborhood near Catalina say in the past month they have noticed their cars broken into and valuables stolen during the night.

Pima County Sheriff's are looking fortwo burglarswho targeted the same home twice.

Deputy Cody Gress says various items were stolen from the victim's cars that were unlocked and the burglars used a clicker in the car to get into the garage.

KGUN9 spoke with neighbors who wanted to remain anonymous for safety reasons who say they recently noticed a spike in thefts.

One family claimed their ladder was stolen from their truck.

Another said they heard noise in their front yard and then in the morning valuables in their car were gone.

"Basically, we had binoculars stolen, we had an iPod stolen, we had sunglasses stolen," a resident said.

Neighbors said they are turning to Nextdoor to get neighborhood crime alerts.

Deputy Gress says nothing is 100% burglar proof but getting HD surveillance cameras and motion sensor lights can deter burglars.

"More often than not most burglaries happen the burglars don't want to be noticed," he said. "They don't want to have human contact that is not their goal, their goal is to get whatever property they can of value and get out without being noticed."

He says the biggest piece of advice for people is lock cars and homes.
