This week Tucson firefighters are working to bring awareness to the importance of having working smoke alarms in your home as National Fire Prevention week kicks off.
"Over half the deaths that occur with house fires take place between 11:00 at night ant 7:00 in the morning and obviously that's because people are sleeping," Capt. Barrett Baker told KGUN9.
On the back of each smoke alarm you can find a manufacturing date. If its over ten years old it needs to be replaced.
