SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — An animal shelter in Sierra Vista is set to reopen Tuesday.
The Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center closed in August to prevent parvo,
Parvo is a highly contagious virus, mainly affecting puppies and young dogs.
It can take up to two weeks to show symptoms, that's why the shelter took the precaution of closing for a few weeks.
They say the parvo cases have been contained, and they'll run adoption specials through the end of Septemeber.
