Myth, Mystery and Menace of Mars

KITT PEAK, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The public is invited to join Kitt Peak National Observatory on Sunday, May 22, for a very special night time program dedicated to the Mars.
 
The public is invited to come learn about Mars' place in the solar system, its place in history and its place in the hearts and minds of man, said Bob Martino with Kitt Peak National Observatory.
 
On Sunday, the public will be able to observe Mars during its closest approach to Earth through one of Kitt Peak’s Visitor Center Telescopes.
 
The opposition of Mars is a “once-every-two years” event.
 
The program is intended for beginners and families with children over the age of eight.
 
Join Kitt Peak National Observatory this Sunday, May 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
 
Tickets for adults are $45, $25 for children ages 8 to 16. Kitt Peak members receive a $5 discount.
