A Ramadan Interfaith Celebration of Life for Muhammad Ali is planned for this Saturday at the Islamic Center of Tucson.
The celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. and the entire community is welcome to attend. A number of guest speakers will be on hand to talk about the boxing legend. Guest speakers will include a number of people including Pastor Grady Scott, who will talk about what Ali mean to the African-American community.
Tucson city council member Steve Kozachik and Mayor Jonathan Rothschild will present a special city proclamation to mark it as a day of Remembrance and Unity in the city of Tucson.
Ali was a significant figure in the Muslim community and he often cleared us misconceptions about the religion of Islam. All faiths are welcome to attend the ceremony.
A formal memorial for Ali is planned for Friday in Louisville, KY.
