Temperatures are starting to rise, and Mount Lemmon is a good place to visit and cool off.
Several hikers went to the mountain today to spend time outdoors while also avoiding the heat.
Laurie Majka hiker says "You lose about 7 degrees for each thousand feet you come up. We went from 90 degrees up to about 68 at the top so it's a really nice break break. beautiful."
Employees at the Cookie Cabin on Mount Lemmon say they are happy to see visitors coming to enjoy their time in nature, but they also have a reminder for anyone making the drive up there.
John Shay Cookie Cabin manager says "We know it's a great escape but you've got to be respectful of the area that's around, the plant life and the water because otherwise if you don't, it's not going to be there. It's not going to be something you can continue to use for your kids, and their kids kids."
