TUCSON, Ariz. — A South Tucson Icon is open for business again, eight months after it was destroyed by a fire.

Micha's Restaurant on Fourth Avenue opened Wednesday after it burned down in April when a fire started near a stove.

The restaurant has been owned by the Mariscal family for 40 years.

Even while Micha's was closed, the family continued catering and feeding the community through a food truck.

"It's exciting, nervous, just to get back into the groove again," said Alex Franco, the owner of Micha's.

Micha's is planning an official grand opening in April 2019, one year after the fire.
