MARICOPA, Ariz. (AP) - A medical examiner in Pinal County has rule that a 3-year-old girl died from blunt force trauma.
The Pinal County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from the girl's caretaker Thursday morning. The caregiver began driving the toddler to a hospital and was on the way by deputies and paramedics.
The girl was taken to an emergency room, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators say the girl lived with her mother and two other women in the town of Maricopa. The Department of Child Safety removed three other children from the home.
The death is still being investigated.
