Arizona Senator John McCcain opened a new campaign headquarters in Tucson, saying he faces a tough re-election bid.
Speaking to his supporters, McCain called the political climate tumultuous.
And then he asked a question.
"If anyone here thought six months ago that Donald Trump would be the Republican Presidential nominee, raise your hand. If you raised your hand, you're lying," said McCain.
In previous interviews, McCain has said GOP leaders who refuse to accept Trump as the party's nominee are out of step with the Republican voters who have chosen him.
However, McCain has yet to appear on the same stage as Donald Trump.
