MARICOPA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities in the city of Maricopa are searching for the person responsible for giving several women botched lip injections.
Maricopa police spokesman Ricardo Alvarado said Friday that three women have reported getting infections after going to the same house for injections.
Alvarado says investigators are working to identify the person involved and see if she is licensed.
Officers have gone to the residence several times but nobody has been present.
Fox 10 Phoenix reports that as many as seven women went to the home Aug. 3 for the procedure.
Alexandra Garaventa says she has seen the woman several times but this was the first time her lips swelled up after.
Alvarado says patients should check a person's licensing and certifications before they try a procedure like lip injections.
