A 33-year-old man was arrested in Three Points on Tuesday.
According to Border Patrol, Palemon Castelan-Reyes was arrested for being present in the United States illegally.
Following his arrest, it was discovered that Castelan had been previously convicted and sentenced for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in 2008.
He now faces prosecution for criminal illegal re-entry into the United States.
