TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - If you have ever put a temporary tattoo on your face, arm, or anywhere else on your body there is a good chance it was made here in Tucson.
"We are the largest temporary tattoo manufacturer in the world. We manufacture seven million tattoos every single day," said Mitch Pisik, President and CEO of TM International.
TM International is one of the largest manufacturers in Tucson that is also headquartered in Tucson. While they make temporary tattoos, they also manufacture coloring books and activity kits for kids. Piski says they employ more than 120 people and 98 percent of all their products are made in the Tucson facility.
"We could really do this anywhere in the United States, but what we find in Tucson, where we have always been, is the people are great, the teamwork is great," said Pisik.
Pisik showed Nine On Your Side around their offices off Aviation Hwy to give us an idea how the tattoos are made. They employ a team of 12 artists to design tattoos on for manufacture and help customers create customized versions on their own.
Their custom division creates temporary tattoos for big name clients like Budweiser, Procter & Gamble, Disney, Warner Bros, and Marvel. Anyone can create their own custom tattoos on their website, temporarytattoos.com.
"It's scientifically proven that you can't put on a temporary tattoo without smiling," said Pisik with a grin.
