A Tucson veteran is receiving a special 'thank you' at tomorrow's Diamondbacks game in Phoenix. Kristyn weed served as a sergeant in the army and completed tours in Germany, England and Norway. When she retired she spent years being unemployed and living in an RV.
Thanks to Operation Homefront and Chase Bank she now has a home of her own and it's mortgage free.
"I have a home now," said Weed. "I have a place and it's gorgeous, I love it it. There's nothing I don't like about the house. A feeling of permanency. On the hottest days I could just sit inside in the air conditioning or on my patio and just enjoy it."
Kristyn and her family will be honored as a way to celebrate her new home and say 'thank you' for her service. The presentation is set to begin at Chase Field before the Diamondbacks take on the Padres July 4th at 6:00.
