A local teacher visited his family days before Hurricane Harvey hit Houston and flooded the streets.

Erik Truelove is the owner of Drum and Drummer School of Music. He took his first trip to visit his wife a few months after she moved with their two daughters.

Since the move this was Truelove's first time visiting his family, days before Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area.

As the streets began to flood, the Truelove family were trapped in their apartment without electricity and water for a few days.

After seeing the destruction, Truelove decided to find a way to help the victims of Harvey.

Throughout his next visits Truelove will be taking a suitcase with cards written by kids to then be handed out to kids in Houston. His goal is to show children in Houston that there are others who care about them.

If interested in sending some of these cards to Truelove so he can take them to Houston, they can be mailed or delivered to the address below.
