The intersection of 8th Avenue and 25th Street got a little brighter this week thanks to mural that was painted by community members.
Students of Ochoa Community school and Tucsonans with the John Valenzuela Youth Center teamed up with local artist Mel Dominguez to paint the mural that also serves as a safety measure.
Living Streets Allinace member Vanessa Cascio said "It does two things. one, it's meant to beautify the school area. but also increase the visibility of students walking and biking to school. um it helps to slow down traffic and um provides that kind of safety for the students."
In addition to the art there was a live DJ, and attendees could even bring their bikes for a free repair.
