After dropping out of the race for U.S. Senate in Arizona, Kelli Ward will be taking the spotlight for a different kind of show -- musical theater.
According to Havasu News, Ward was recently cast in a production of the popular musical, "Mamma Mia!" set to open in November.

"I've always loved doing theatre," Ward told the paper. "I kind of got bit by the theatre bug when I was in high school. We didn't have a big theatre department in West Virginia, where I was, but we did the senior class play and I was doing performances ever since in different community theatres throughout my life."
Ward, a medical doctor, was elected to the Arizona State Senate in 2012. She lost two bids for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in the state -- first to John McCain in 2014, then to Martha McSally in August.
