Tucson seniors and veterans who need somewhere to live will soon have a place to call home.
Groundbreaking began today on a new residential development. The project is funded in part by the Pima County Housing Center.
The apartments will feature modern appliances, phone, internet and cable, as well as access to dining, activity and athletic facilities. The complexes are being built near Pima and Country Club, next to TMM Family Services.
Project managers say the close proximity to TMM will allow the agency's counselors to work one-on-one with tenants.
Construction is expected to last through spring 2018. Potential residents can begin applying in February.
