Google's A.I. death predictor can predict your life expectancy
TUCSON, Ariz. - Google knows quite a bit, and possibly everything, but now it can even tell you when you're going to die.
The tech company tested an artificial intelligence computer system that can predict whether hospital patients will pass away just 24 hours after they are admitted.
Sounds strange, right?
What's more shocking is that the accuracy of the AI's predictions are about 95% correct.
The A.I. system makes its predictions using basic data such as a patient's age, ethnicity, and gender.
The new algorithm then includes information like a patient's vital signs, medical history, and hand-written notes from his or her doctors.
Although the technology is still in a trial mode, it can already also predict the number of days a patient will be in the hospital or the chances of being admitted again.
