Sabino Canyon is so popular this time of year that it causes some problems for hikers.

Hikers say that sometimes they have to do laps in the parking lot for 30 minutes trying to find a parking spot.

The Coronado Forest and the Regional Transportation Authority in partnership with Tucson Clean Cities have teamed up to fix the problem.

This week a free program began taking hikers up to the popular trail for free from Udall Park.

The shuttle can transport 40 people per ride.

It leaves Udall Park beginning at 9:15 a.m. and then every hour after that until the last return shuttle at 4:45 p.m.

The pilot program will last until January 2.
