TUCSON, Ariz. — An Arizona state senator and former candidate for governor now says he may run for mayor of Tucson.
Last month, incumbent Mayor Jonathan Rothschild said he won't for a third term in office. He was the first Democratic mayor of Tucson since 1999.
Steve Farley represents the 9th District in the Arizona Senate, which covers much of the Tucson metro area. In a series of tweets Tuesday, Farley said he's considering a run for mayor and wanted to gauge support.
...If I run for Tucson Mayor, 1) Will you publicly endorse me? 2) Will you volunteer? 3) Will you contribute financially?

I am excited about the possibility of serving you again as your Mayor. I want to know that you are on board for this new journey forward. We can do anything — together.

Farley has served in Arizona's legislature since 2007. He also owns a small business.
