Governor Doug Ducey toured the Raul Castro Port of Entry in Douglas Wednesday afternoon.
The tour comes after the announcement that the port of entry was going to be modernized.
Douglas Mayor, Robert Uribe says, the Governors visit was "monumental" and it's a great thing that the state is noticing the work they have done.
Including, the work to modernize the port.

Ducey says, he wanted to check out the Port of Entry and says that there are major infrastructure needs. "The port is busting at its seams."
Uribe says, Customs and Border Patrol agents are doing their jobs effectively but technology needs improvements.
"They're on their toes daily trying to identify what's not common what's uncommon and we are thankful for their job and service. So modernizing the Port of Entry with new technology, expanding and growing will help them do their job even better and protect our country," says Uribe.
"What we're doing to making sure we have public safety and also that trucks, transit, tourism can move effectively and efficiently across the border," said Governor Doug Ducey.
Douglas Mayor says he wants to keep the momentum going for the City of Douglas as these renovations will help the local economy.

The modernized port is expected to take about five years.
The feasibility study will be performed by a Tucson architectural firm, line and space.
