TUCSON, Ariz. — A local church spent their Sunday morning creating flood buckets to help those in need.
Desert Skies United Methodist Church does something to help those in need every year on the Sunday after Easter. This year they created flood buckets, which were filled with cleaning supplies to help flood and natural disaster victims.
BUCKETS ON BUCKETS- you’re looking at 200 buckets full of cleaning supplies for disaster relief victims around the country.

"It's so people can shovel out the mess that's made after a big flood or a hurricane or other things where things need to be cleaned up," Desert Skies United Methodist Church's Senior Pastor Candace Lansberry said.
The buckets consisted of dish soap, laundry detergent, plastic gloves and other cleaning supplies.
Here is a look at what’s inside the buckets. Some of the items include laundry detergent, air freshener, dish soap, scrub brushes, etc.

All these items are bought with donations from the community.
I’ll have more on where the buckets are going tonight on @kgun9 at 7 & 10. pic.twitter.com/24QosoJc6n
The church collected up to 5,000 dollars in donations, mostly coming from spare change saved by churchgoers.
"It was a community coming together to make a difference for people whose lives have been totally shattered because of a natural disaster," Lansberry said.
With the donations, they were able to fill up 200 buckets in just 40 minutes.
The church doesn't know where the buckets will be going, but the pastor said they're just happy to help in anyway they can.
"We are blessed with so much," Lansberry said. "We live out here on the outskirts of Tucson. Many of us have a lot to give, so we choose to make this a huge part of who we are as a church congregation."
