Deputy K9 receives donated body armor

Jaap, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department K9, received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
 
According to the media release, the vest fits Jaap great and he enjoys wearing it.
 
With the generous donation by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., Jaap will be safer while protecting our community.
 
The mission of the charity who donated the vest is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.
 
The vest donation program is open to dogs actively employed in the U.S. with law enforcement or related agencies who are certified and at least 20 months of age.
