Deputies from the Pima County Sheriff Department are investigating after a man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday.
Deputies say at 4:20 a.m. they responded to a single-vehicle crash near Sabino Canyon Road and Shoreline Drive.
As deputies arrived, they learned that 78-year-old Nandlal Patel was driving northbound on Sabino Canyon Road when he went off the roadway and hit a Tucson Electric Power electrical box.
Authorities found Patel unresponsive and began performing CPR.
Rural/Metro Fire Department transported Patel to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
