Those that are driving in and around Fort Huachuca may notice smoke in the air this morning.
Although, there's no need to worry.
The Army will be burning slash piles. These type of burns mean each individual pile is burned and then the ashes are pushed and spread out to cool off overnight.
The burns are expected to start around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 30 and will continue until around noon.
More slash burns are expected to be happening next week as well, beginning on Tuesday, September 4.
It's been raining so much in that area lately, Fort Huachuca's forester is taking advantage of the damp grounds and the available resources.
Officials also say the smoke should have no impact on the cantonment or training sites.
