Members of the Desert Lutheran Church provided a helping hand to a local school Saturday.
Church members spent the day remodeling a portable classroom for Gridley Middle School.
Dozens of volunteers jointed Pastor Jim Cords in creating a better environment for students.
They not only repainted the walls but created a new layout for the classroom.
A second classroom will include a reading corner, art corner and quiet corner.
The school is also replacing the ramp to the classroom.
Artists are painting a mural of a grizzly bear, the school's mascot, on the outside of the classroom.
Cords hopes all the work will be done before classes resume Tuesday.
