If you booked a trip out of the country, the coronavirus probably has you wondering what to do. Depending on where and when you're going, do you forge ahead or get a refund?
As the scary virus headlines change, so do refund policies.
If you didn't buy fully refundable tickets or fares, and don't have insurance, it is crucial you check daily.
As I'm writing, American Airlines is only offering full refunds if you're booked to China.

United Airlines has policies that are similar but they add South Korea to the refund list.

A check of Delta Airlines website shows no refund options. But they do offer free changes on flights to some China and South Korea destinations.

Also, many of the refund policies are based on what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization list as highest risk travel destinations.
When I checked, the CDC listed only China and South Korea at "highest alert," Italy and Japan at "alert" level, and Hong Kong at "watch" level.
