Twenty-eight Bluetooth skimmers have been found in Tucson since last year.
According to Sgt. Kimberly Bay, the amount of Bluetooth skimmers in town has sharply declined in the past several months.
Skimmers are hidden inside ATM machines and gas station pumps.
A technique can help you spot skimmers with your cell phone.
Go to settings on your smart phone and turn on the Bluetooth. If there is a skimmer in the area, a long string of numbers and letters will appear. That is the code for the skimmer.
Do not connect your phone and let an employee know.
