Banner University Medical Center broke ground on a new tower Thursday morning.
The nine-story, $400 million tower will be just the beginning of new construction at the medical center which is expected to total $1 billion.
Mayor Jonathan Rothschild was at the groundbreaking to talk about the importance of the medical complex.
