Firefighters put out an apartment blaze in the 2600 block of North Alvernon Friday morning.
The fire, which detroyed the apartment, started by a candle left in the closet. No one was injured.
Nine units, including 23 firefighters, were on the scene at 10:09 a.m. and had the fire under control by 10:31 a.m.
