Just days after being placed over the headstones of two WWII veterans on Memorial Day, an American flag was stolen and replaced by two smaller flags.

A pet cemetery in Tucson is where these two veterans are remembered. One of them chose to be buried there because of the love for his dog.

After raising the flag on memorial day, someone stole the flag and then replaced it with two smaller flags that were placed at the side of the headstones.

Charles Foley is the founder of Flags 4 Flagless, he says he was the one who put up the flag on Memorial Day and was called after it was stolen.

Foley says whoever stole the flag committed a cowardly crime and should come forward and take responsibility.

The flag has since been replaced and there is now a lockbox protecting it from any future thieves.
