TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona Department of Transportation's State Transportation Board is expected to award the bid for work on the new Ruthrauff Traffic Interchange to Sundt Construction. It's expected to happen at the board meeting on Friday, November 15th in Wickenberg.
In an amendment to the meeting, the board says Sundt's bid of $78.9 M was 21% under ADOT staff's estimate of how much the work at Ruthrauff and I-10 would cost.
Four contracting companies, including Sundt, bid on the project, which will begin in early 2020. When complete, the new Ruthrauff Traffic Interchange will look similar to Ina, Prince and Twin Peaks, with a bridged overpass at the Union Pacific Railroad.
