Effective immediately until April 18, AARP Foundation is offering free tax assistance and preparation through its Tax-Aide program, according to a news release.

The service is open to anyone, especially to those who are 50 and older, who cannot afford a tax

Tax-Aide is offered in conjunction with the IRS, the release said.

Last year, AARP said taxpayers who used AARP Foundation Tax-Aide received $1.41 billion in income tax refunds and more than $240 million in Earned Income Tax Credits.

The service is available to AARP members and non-members.

The program will be offered at 77 sites in Arizona including libraries, senior centers, and other locations.

For information on which documents to bring to the tax site or how to locate an AARP Foundation Tax-Aide site, head to their website or call 1-888-227-7669.
