If you're taking your kids trick-or-treating, these apps will show you what neighborhoods to visit and where your kids are minute by minute.

1. Nextdoor: The Nextdoor app has a feature called "Treat Map" that allows you to see exactly who on your street will be handing out candy, and if you're handing it out, you can mark your house with a candy corn so people know to come visit.

If you don't want people knocking on your door, you can mark that too. The Treat Map was created so you can plan your route ahead of time, but it will also give you an idea of where your kids will be trick-or-treating in your neighborhood if they're going without you.

You can also mark your house with a "haunted house" icon to let trick or treaters know to expect a spooky surprise at your home!

2. Glympse: Share and receive locations from any of your contacts and choose how long you want to share your location for and who sees it.

3. Track or Treat: This Halloween specific app is very user friendly, and allows you to send text alerts to any of your contacts for real time mapped updates on your location. Just swipe the tab to indicate you're out trick-or-treating, and your location will be shared to whoever you selected.

4. Life 360:This app is specifically for families. It allows you to track locations of family members, send check in push alerts, and set up alerts so you know when your family arrives to a specific spot or to home.

5. Find My Friends: This app is built in your iPhone, and you can get constant locations from anyone in your shared family iCloud or from your contacts list.
