COTTONWOOD, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Cottonwood say two students have been arrested for allegedly making online threats against Mingus Union High School.

They say a 14-year-old boy is accused of two counts of hoax and one count of interference or disruption of an educational institution.

Police say a 16-year-old boy is being held on suspicion of one count of interference or disruption of an educational institution.

They say three 14-year-old male students have been questioned in the case that'll be reviewed by the Yavapai County Attorney's Office.

Police say they received information Wednesday night that several students were discussing plans to "shoot up" the high school Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say it apparently was an elaborate hoax to prank another student and Mingus Union officials believe there was no credible threat to the school.
