The latest state-by-state guidance from the White House's COVID-19 task force shows that Arizona is "experiencing a significant resurgence" and "current mitigation efforts are inadequate."

The report, obtained by ABC News, states, "there is now aggressive, unrelenting, expanding broad community spread across the country, reaching most counties, without evidence of improvement but rather, further deterioration."
"Current mitigation efforts are inadequate and must be increased to flatten the curve to sustain the health system for both COVID and non-COVID emergencies," the document states.
The document lists multiple recommendations for Arizona, stating, "Arizona must now increase mitigation efforts as it did in the summer to flatten the curve."

Some of the recommendations are similar to what Arizona saw during the peak spread of the virus over the summer months, including:
- Proactive testing
- Ensure masks are worn in public
- Reduce capacity for indoor spaces
Additionally, the document details several other recommendations, including proactive testing for "groups representative of the community," which can include teachers, college students, and hospital personnel.
The document acknowledges that hospital admissions in the state, especially for those over 70, are increasing at a rapid pace and that there are "early signs of reduced N95, gown, and glove supply in specific hospitals’ reporting."
In recent days, state and city officials have also called for Gov. Doug Ducey to implement additional measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
