The best thing to do would be to bring it into one of our GIA trained professionals at PMR. We own a precious metals analyzer, which we keep at each of our three locations in Tucson.

There are a lot of great fakes out there today that even pass by some people in the industry. The best way to tell would be by bringing it into one of our locations. We look at the precise detail of the watch. It must be crisp, stamp finished, not laser finished or etched. The details on the dial of the watch, band, bridge, casing, and how the material is made is also important. Examining the movement and functions of the watch also helps differentiate real from fake.
What makes a watch more valuable?
Swiss made Men's model watches are more valuable than woman's watches since they are high in demand.
Watches that are 40mm or larger tend to hold a higher value.
Watches that are kept in great condition for 30-60 years with all original parts, box and papers can be worth a small fortune.
Watches with more features, chronograph, GMT or moon phase by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Breitling, Omega, Tag Heuer, are some just to name a few.
