My 12 year old nephew, Anthony Sanchez went out shooting with me at gates pass and caught this awesome shot of a Pinacate beetle in the desert just before sunset today. ~ Rachel Sanchez.

This little, feathered visitor appears to be a pygmy owl, or perhaps a young barn owl?

These colorful little guys were sent in by Bruce and Jenny Felber. We don't know what they are... but we are looking into it.

Cereus in bloom!

This tarantula was out for a stroll following monsoon rains in Tombstone.

My wife noticed just now that the second set of new doves had arrived over the back patio - we don't usually get to see them when they are this small! A pair of the doves discovered a temporary nesting site on a bit of shade sail.

My mom and I thought we'd share this beautiful bloom from our cactus with you.
