The first Wildcat Welcome Week Rummage Sale starts tomorrow.

University of Arizona's resident life and sustainability office collected about nine tons of used and new items left from students dorm move out.

Appliances, microwaves, tables, and more are all on sale for under $50.

About 10 students spent their summer reviewing and cleaning all the items they found in five dorm buildings.

"They will actually not go into landfills and most of the items are brand new, some of the items were not opened so it's a great way to not only support recycling efforts, but a great way to continue this project," said Ernette Leslie, the program coordinator.

"I think it is important for those students that are budget savvy or students that maybe didn't come to campus fully prepared," she said. "It is a great way for them to purchase items."

The rummage sale starts Friday at 8 a.m. and is scheduled to last until 3:30 p.m..

They don't accept cash, only credit card. In order to be able to attend the sale, you have have register as a bidder.

The sale is located at UA's Surplus Store, 3740 E. 34th Street. The event is open to everyone.
