Multiple patients transported from collision

Tucson Fire is on scene of a multiple vehicle wreck on Tucson and Irvington. 

There are multiple patients with varying degrees of injuries. 

Motorists are asked to avoid the area while police investigate. 

Sgt. Pete Dugan of Tucson Police says a Dodge pickup truck was going southbound on Tucson Boulevard and crossed over the median approaching Irvington. The pickup truck was involved in a head-on collision with a Nissan Armada that had five people inside the vehicle. 

The driver of the pickup truck was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. All five people inside the Nissan including a 7-year-old child has serious injuries. An infant was also in the Nissan and has life-threatening injuries. 

Dugan says there are no signs of impairment from the driver of the pickup truck.
