Whitney Clark, Good Morning Tucson News Anchor

Whitney Clark

KGUN 9 On Your Side

Anchor

You could say Whitney was born an early bird! She grew up watching the morning news before school so she could inform her parents of the days events. Now Whitney co-anchors Good Morning Tucson with Mark Charter every weekday.

Whitney joined the KGUN9 team in March 2015 as an evening reporter and fill-in anchor. She also anchored the 9 p.m. newscast on the CW Tucson. She’s covered everything from breaking crime stories, to high-profile immigration cases and traveled the state for the historic 2016 presidential election.

There is a quote by Mr. Rogers about looking for "the helpers" during bad times. Whitney also recognizes that there is a lot of good happening in the world and she wants to tell you about it! Have “good news” to share? Send it to whitney.clark@kgun9.com.

Before coming back “home” to Arizona, Whitney spent four years at KTVL News10 in Medford, Oregon as a multi-media journalist, morning anchor and producer. She graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University. While in college she worked as a production coordinator for the PBS affiliate Channel 8/KAET-TV and completed a number of internships at Phoenix-area stations and TMZ in Los Angeles.

Whitney grew up in Claremont, CA and is the oldest of three siblings. If you follow her on social media, you know she loves the outdoors! On the weekends she likes exploring new hiking trails, traveling, buying her cat Gertrude McFuzz too many toys and testing out new recipes.

Giving back to the community is also very important to Whitney! She has volunteered with Literacy Connects, she is a member of the Junior League of Tucson, Inc. and she is also a board member for the non-profit Our Family Services.
