The University of Arizona has begun the process of firing Arizona basketball Assistant Coach Emanuel "Book" Richardson.

It has been five days since the FBI arrested and prosecutors charged Richardson with bribery and fraud.

The U.S. attorney in Manhattan says Richardson is one of four NCAA assistant coaches who accepted money from a former NBA agent and financial planner in exchange for pressuring athletes to sign with them once they enter the NBA.

The FBI says Richardson also gave a recruit $15-thousand to play at Arizona and paid a current player.

Many are waiting for Head Coach Sean Miller to make a statement about the issue.

Miller has not made a statement and has canceled a scheduled appearance at a rotary club meeting next week.

Richardson has been on Miller's staff for 11 years, starting when they coached together at Xavier University.
