TUCSON, Ariz. — There could soon be E-Scooter on Tucson streets, according to the city of Tucson.

The city has selected the two companies Bird Rides, Inc. and Razor USA, LLC, that will be a part of the six-month pilot program.

The two firms will work with city officials to develop a timeline for making the scooters available for rent.

The Tucson City Council voted to approve the pilot program back in March.

Council Member Paul Durham says it's a good transportation option.

While Steve Kozachik says there is no getting around safety issues and clutter.

"The pilot program has been designed to maximize safety, minimize sidewalk riding and clutter, and test the viability of scooters as a mobility option in Tucson," according to the city of Tucson.
