This summer, guests at some Marriott hotel rooms will have access to a new virtual employee.
The voice assistant Alexa will be checking in at the hotels, thanks to a partnership recently announced by Amazon.
It's called Alexa for Hospitality.
The deal puts Amazon Echo smart speakers into select rooms across Marriott's family of hotels, like the Sheraton, Ritz-Carlton, and more.
Guests will be able to do things like order room service and control the lighting, and guests will also be able to initiate other Alexa functions, like playing music and setting alarms.
Guests won't need an Amazon account to use the devices. But in the future, Amazon will allow them to sign in to their accounts to play their playlists and audiobooks.
If all of this sounds a little strange or if you feel your privacy is being invaded by androids, there's going to be an option to unplug it if you don't want to use Alexa.
