TUCSON, Ariz. -- The date is set for Tucson's 25th Annual Parade of Lights that kicks off five weeks of holiday festivities in the Old Pueblo.

The Parade of Lights is an event that allows companies, families, schools and groups to share their creativity with the community.

“Groups are having fun creating their floats for this year’s parade. It’s a real team-building activity that brings people together and encourages amazing artistic expression,” said Kathleen Eriksen, President & CEO of the Downtown Tucson Partnership. “I’m excited to see all the bright, festive entries roll through downtown!”

The deadline for parade participants to apply is November 8th. All entries will be required to include the use of lights. A panel of judges will award five prizes based on elements including beauty, creativity and use of lights.

Festivities will take place in Jácome Plaza on November 30th from 4:30 to 9 p.m.. There will be a Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 p.m., and the Parade of Lights at 6:30 p.m. Downtown will be decorated with thousands of lights, and free streetcar rides will be available all day long.
