Wildcats rush for 506 yards in rout of Lumberjacks

The Arizona Wildcats started their season off with a blowout 62-24 win over the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks on Saturday night at Arizona Stadium.

The Wildcats picked up where they left of in the last game of the season last year, as far as their ground attack is concerned, rushing for 506 yards.

Brandon Dawkins was announced as the starting quarterback for tonight's game.  He finished 7-13 with 89 yards and a touchown.  Not exactly silencing his critics.  Though he did 2 touchdowns and 92 yards on the ground.

Free safety and local star Demetrius Flanagan Fowles was the stand out player on defense, with 2 interceptions on the night.  The Wildcats defense surrendered 562 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Khalil Tate entered the game in the 3rd quarter.  He saw iimited action before being replaced by Rhett Rodriguez, who appears to have burned his redshirt year.

Shun Brown also returned a punt for a 66 yard touchdown in Arizona's first score of the season.

Up next for the Wildcats: They'll host the University of Houston next weekend.  The Cougars did not play their first game of the year due to Hurricane Harvey.
